Notes:
Long term retention of subject matter occurs through active learning and through group activities, as opposed to passive listening as individuals.
Since this means that you will probably forget everything you’ve heard when you leave this room, I’m distributing a handout of my talk on which you can “actively” take notes if you wish.
In my talk, I will describe two WWW-based software packages that encourage interaction between viewers and the subject matter, and thereby enhance the learning process.
I will also share some insight into potential classroom applications of these packages, as well as how to use this type of technology effectively in the classroom.
