The Nd:YAG laser consists of Nd atoms in a YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) crystal. It emits
pulsed light at 1064 nm, which can be converted into light of 532 nm and 355 nm through the
use of nonlinear crystals. It is used in our laboratory to pump a dye laser, which produces
tunable light for use in our experiments.
